He/Him
Dr. Williams is a clinical psychologist whose practice focuses on emotional problems and disorders. He has training in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT). Dr. Williams completed his PhD in Psychological Clinical Science at the University of Toronto Scarborough, where his doctoral thesis focused on better understanding how people distinguish between their emotions and how difficulties with emotion differentiation may be associated with mental health. Dr. Williams completed his pre-doctoral residency with Nova Scotia Health in Halifax, focusing on training in EFT, DBT for borderline personality disorder, and CBT in the Mood Disorders Clinic at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. He then worked in the Lunenburg region as a psychologist and Team Lead in the public health system.

He is experienced working with adults experiencing a range of problems, including depression, anxiety, panic, PTSD, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), prolonged grief disorder, self-criticism, life stress, and emotional difficulties (including persistent anger, shame, guilt, sadness, emotional volatility, emotional numbness, and emotional blindness).
