Dr. Marina Fodor earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where she focused on providing care to underserved communities throughout her training. There she led therapy groups aiding pregnant and postpartum patients in substance use recovery and provided smoking cessation counselling for people living with HIV/AIDS. Dr. Fodor then completed her pre-doctoral residency and post-doctoral fellowship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, where she gained extensive clinical experience across diverse specialized settings. Her roles included treating people with concurrent disorders in Concurrent Outpatient Medical Psychosocial Addiction Support Services, supporting 2SLGBTQ+ individuals recovering from trauma and addiction in Rainbow Services, and conducting personality assessments and dialectical behavioural therapy for those navigating mood/anxiety disorders alongside trauma-related or personality disorders in the Integrated Day Treatment Service.

Dr. Fodor adopts a compassionate and inclusive approach to treatment, delivering culturally sensitive and affirmative care to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Recognizing the intricacies of individual experiences and the intersectionality of identities, she cultivates a collaborative alliance with her clients, valuing mutual respect and trust as integral to the therapeutic journey. By integrating multiple psychotherapy modalities, Dr. Fodor tailors treatment to align with each client’s unique presentation, goals, identities, and past therapy experiences, ensuring a more personalized and effective approach. Her work incorporates a variety of theoretical approaches and evidence-based treatments including: Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)   Cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) Dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) Mindfulness Positive psychology Trauma-informed psychotherapy.

Dr. Fodor works with clients who have a wide range of treatment goals and presentations, some of which include: anxiety and panic, depression, emotion dysregulation, interpersonal conflict and relational issues, insomnia, life transitions, procrastination, trauma, self-esteem issues, stress and burnout, substance use difficulties, work-life balance.
